When Adam Milstead (6-1) said that he’s planning to make up for lost time, apparently it meant that he’s in a hurry to get to the UFC.
The 28-year-old heavyweight put on an impressive showing in the co-main event at Gladiators of the Cage 18 in Western Pennsylvania on Saturday night, stopping veteran Lewis Rumsey (11-13) with a vicious TKO in just 70 seconds.
“The Prototype” spent the entirety of the fight stalking Rumsey, landing multiple shots before eventually dropping him with a trio of flush right hands to the jaw. The referee stepped in shortly thereafter, and Milstead picked up his sixth consecutive stoppage win.
Milstead has had just two fights in the past two, after he returned from a short-lived retirement last year to stop Nick Smiley in the first round before suffering an injury in that fight that kept him out for over a year.
Milstead already has his next bout lined up, as he is set to face Robert Morrow (23-19-1) at King of the Cage: Hands of Steel on Sept. 26 in Washington, PA.
