In a bit of a rare occurence, a women’s bout will headline IT Fight Series 35, as former Strikeforce title challenger Jan Finney (7-10) is set to take on Marciea Allen (4-2) in a 135-pound bout in the main event at the organization’s September 5 card in Springfield, Ohio.
The organization recently issued a press release featuring the annoucement of this bout as well as two other pro bouts and two amateur female contests:
With two great women’s bouts already booked for September 5th at Competition Accessories with Danielle Howdieshell taking on Serena DeJesus and DC native Roya Darvishian taking on IT strawweight champ Chelsea Faulder, IT is letting the ladies take over the show and booking the main event with two of the area’s best bantamweight fighters…. Marciea Allen vs Jan Finney!
Marciea Allen is an up and coming star out of South Dakota by way of Chicago with one more stop before she hits the big stage. She will have her hands full September 5th when she takes on the veteran Jan Finney but she has been there before. With an impressive 4-2 record as a pro, her only 2 losses are to a pair of UFC veterans: Jessamyn Duke under the Invicta FC banner and Ashlee Evans-Smith at World Series of Fighting 10. This didn’t stop her and she came back with an impressive win earlier this year over another big show vet in Carina Damm.
Jan Finney is a pioneer of woman’s MMA and has fought the who’s who in this sport which includes Holly Holm, Cris “Cyborg” Justino, Liz Carmouche and even taking UFC No. 1 contender Miesha Tate to a three-round decision. Jan took a nearly four-year layoff before she returned earlier this year at Legacy FC 39 in Houston, Texas where she came up short with another three-round decision. With a change of camps and now training under Scott Sheeley with the Iron Tiger Fight Team, Jan is ready to show her improvements and show why she is one of the best bantamweights!
You can see this great fight along with two other great pro pairings. Welterweight Timmy McCavit takes on Portland Pringle. These two were supposed to fight earlier this year but with some medicals issues they had to delay the fight until now! Also you will see an action packed grudge match when “Karate” Mike Williams takes on The Chaos Kid Zach Cook.
And this will all take place September 5th at Competition Accessories in Springfield, Ohio when the doors open at 5pm and first fight will be at 6pm!!! For more info check out IT Fight Series at www.itfightseries.com or on their Facebook page www.facebook.com/itfightseriesohio.
