There’s just a single event on the Ohio Valley MMA calendar this weekend, as Explosive Fight Promotions will put on Caged Madness 36 at the Tadmor Shrine Center in Akron, Ohio.

Of course we here at BluegrassMMA will be on hand to provide results and a recap of all of the action, but there’s still nothing better than witnessing a live MMA event. With UFC Fight Night 66 being shown in the morning in the U.S., there’s no reason why you need to stay in and not make it out.

Check out five reasons below why you should check out the event this weekend.

Devon Kelleher

I guess that this could technically count as three of the five reasons, but I’ll combine the three title fights into one as my first reason. Aside from a headliner where the middleweight title will be up for grabs between Pittsburgh’s Frankie Festa (4-1) and Evolve MMA rising star Devon Kelleher (3-1), Eddy Faison (5-4) and Chris Araujo (4-2) will square off for the super heavyweight strap, and Devonte Smith (6-2-1) faces Jeremiah Leviege (3-2) for the interim lightweight title.

Kelleher is a proven finisher who likes to get out of there quick, but Festa is a powerhouse who has won his last four in a row. Everybody loves the super heavyweights, and Smith is one of my favorite amateur fighters on the local stage. He has really matured and grown as a fighter since moving to Evolve MMA. He has a tough test in Leviege, whose three wins have all come in less than a minute.
