Yet another Ohio Valley fighter is headed to the World Series of Fighting, as Western Pennsylvania product Nick “Nyquil” Browne (1-0) will make his organizatonal debut at WSOF 13 next month against Sidney Outlaw (3-0).
Browne, who trains at the Uniontown Fight Club, made his professional debut with a first round submission over Jeff Denz at Pinnacle FC 7 in May. Prior to that he was a standout amateur, going 10-1 overall including 6-0 in 2013. He claimed both the Pinnacle FC and NAAFS lightweight titles as an amateur.
Browne will face fellow the Pennsylvania product Outlaw, who is perfect so far through 3 contests in his pro career. He has earned 1 TKO and 1 submission victory, and his most recent outing was a unanimous decision victory over Mike Bannon at Bellator 118 in May. He was also 7-1 as an amateur.
Browne’s fight will be on the event’s preliminary card, and he’ll be joined by another former NAAFS amateur champion on the main card, as Isaiah Chapman (6-1) makes his WSOF debut against Timur Valiev (7-1) at the event.
WSOF 13 takes place on September 13 in Philadelpha and will be headlined by a bantamweight title fight featuring champion Marlon Moraes (13-4-1) defending against Josh Hill (10-0).
