Chuck Haskell’s MMA Brawlroom made its way to Campbell, Ohio on Saturday night, as St. Luy’s Fight Night 6 took place at the St. Lucy Palermo Center.
In the main event, rising star Corey Breckner (3-0) showed off his wrestling to top New York’s Jordan Champion (1-2), finishing the fight with a ground and pound knockout punch while situated in full mount. The Team CMA product trains at Campbell Martial Arts in nearby Youngstown, and is a product of the Boardman High School wrestling program. Still just 21 years old, promoter Chuck Haskell hinted that a title shot could be on the horizon for the undefeated fighter.
The co-main event featured the fight of the night, as welterweight Geoff Saylers (2-1) picked up his second consecutive win with an arm bar submission over the debuting Kenton McNany (0-1) in the third round. Sayer and McNany battled back and forth for the first two rounds, with Sayer winning the standup battle while McNany was on the defensive. McNany clearly wanted the fight to the ground, and the two fighters engaged in every aspect of mixed martial arts through two rounds. The third round was all Sayer, who landed an early takedown before securing the submission.
Earlier in the night, a pair of Pittsburgh products put on impressive showings, as Fight Club Pittsburgh’s Malik Epperson (1-0) was successful in his debut at middleweight with a first round guillotine submission over Patrick Seidner (0-2). And Renzo Gracie Pittsburgh product and former Eastern Michigan University wrestler Cody Hier (1-1) picked up his first win with a unanimous decision over John Lord (0-1).
