One of the Ohio Valley’s most popular fighters is set to make her return to the UFC, as Jessica Eye (11-1, 1-0 UFC) will return to the Octagon next month when she faces Alexis Davis (15-5, 2-0 UFC) at UFC 170 in Las Vegas. The bout will air live on FOX Sports 1, where it will serve as the evening’s featured preliminary bout.

Eye, who was recently voted as the 2013 Ohio MMA Fighter of the Year by fans of OHMMA.com, made her UFC debut in October where she defeated former Strikeforce champion Sarah Kaufman via split decision. The bout was a big jump for Eye, who had been competing exclusively in the 125-pound division prior to making her UFC debut. The Cleveland native trains at Strong Style MMA and is one of the most popular fighters in the Buckeye State. She has headlined multiple NAAFS events, including last year’s Fight Nite in the Flats 9, when she earned a unanimous decision over Carina Damm in her final pre-UFC bout.

The Canadian Davis is one of the best female fighters in the world, and she is unbeaten in the UFC. She made her debut at UFC 161 with a win over Rosi Sexton, and then followed with a unanimous decision win over Liz Carmouche at UFC Fight Night 31 in November.

The winner of this bout will be on the short list of potential challengers for the UFC’s female bantamweight championship, which will be on the line later in the night in the main event at UFC 170 as Ronda Rousey defends against Sara McMann.
