Cincinnati Lager House
115 Joe Nuxhall Way, The Banks

Cincinnati Lager House, formerly Moerlein Lager House, is a large brewpub located at The Banks. The Lager House opened in 2012 and rebranded in 2026 after their licensing deal with Moerlein expired.

The Cincinnati Lager House stands as a vibrant tribute to the city’s deep brewing heritage, blending modern craft innovation with the proud traditions that once made Cincinnati the “Beer Capital of the World.” Located along the riverfront adjacent to Great American Ball Park with sweeping views of the Ohio River and the downtown skyline, the Lager House offers an experience that goes far beyond the pint glass. It’s part brewery, part restaurant, part community gathering space—and entirely rooted in Cincinnati’s love of great beer.

At the heart of the Lager House is its commitment to classic lager brewing. Guests can expect a rotating lineup of house-brewed beers, from crisp Helles and rich Dunkels to seasonal specialties that highlight the versatility of bottom‑fermented beer. While lagers take center stage, the brewery also produces a thoughtful selection of ales, ensuring there’s something for every palate. Each beer is brewed on-site, allowing visitors to enjoy the freshest possible pour.

The food program is equally impressive, offering a menu designed to complement the beer. Expect elevated pub fare, locally inspired dishes, and hearty Midwestern comfort classics. Whether you’re stopping in for a casual lunch, a pre‑game pint, or a celebratory dinner, the Lager House delivers a warm, welcoming atmosphere with plenty of space for groups, families, and beer enthusiasts alike.

Beyond its beer and food, the Cincinnati Lager House embraces its role as a cultural hub. The venue frequently hosts events, brewery tours, beer education sessions, and seasonal celebrations that highlight the city’s brewing legacy. With its prime location, inviting ambiance, and dedication to quality, the Lager House has become a must‑visit destination for anyone exploring Cincinnati’s thriving craft beer landscape.

The Lager House is owned by Indiana’s Cunningham Restaurant Group, which owns Bru Burger Bar in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.

Must-try beer: Crusader (formerly Barbarossa) (Dunkel) – Not every brewery makes a Dunkel, but with their German roots, it only makes sense for CLH to brew one. This one is a deep reddish-brown color and has a nice balance with some toastiness. It also won a silver medal at the 2022 US Open Beer Championship.

Other great beers: Original Lager, OTR Red Ale
