Rivertown Brewing Company
6550 Hamilton Lebanon Rd, Monroe
Rivertown Brewing Company originally opened its Lockland location in 2009, but they relocated to a bigger space in Monroe in 2017. The brewery decided to focus on the Monroe Barrel House and closed the Lockland location in 2018 (Cincy Brewing Co has since taken over the space).
The Monroe location features a full menu with barbecue as its centerpiece, and is as family-friendly as breweries get with an arcade room featuring retro video games. Rivertown underwent some growing pains in 2018, but they’re still here despite all of the rumors, and hopefully they’ll be around for many years to come.
Must-try beer: Roebling Vanilla Espresso (Imperial Porter) – Rivertown has developed a following and a niche with their sour beers, but Roebling is still my must-try from them. The brewery has expanded immensely since moving to Monroe, and Roebling is now even available in cans. It’s a nice smooth option that’s good in the summer or winter despite its 7.9% ABV.
Other great beers: Ojos Negros, Nice Melons, Divergent
