DogBerry Brewing is definitely a diamond in the rough. This small brewery is located in West Chester just outside of the city of Cincinnati and has been open since 2015, with “DogBerry 2.0” opening in 2017. DogBerry is your quintessential inviting “neighborhood” brewery that employs people who are just craft beer lovers.
They also have awesome customer service, and an open taproom that features skee ball, picnic tables, and pop-a-shot. The brewery has experienced impressive organic growth, starting with their 1bbl system and eventually moving to a larger space and now regularly canning and distributing their beer.
Must-try beer: Bray’s On Target (Brown Ale) – One of the favorites of serious beer drinkers in Cincinnati, DogBerry has had a slow but steady expansion over the past few years. Originally a tiny 1bbl brewhouse, they’ve expanded and are now even offering regular cans. One of their first can offerings was Bray’s On Target, a perfectly drinkable brown ale with a hint of coffee and a slight woody flavor. This was a fridge staple while it was around.
